Fuel3d raises 1.7 million euros to develop facial 3D scanning technology

Currently in developed countries, six out of every ten people wear glasses or have vision correction surgery. The global market for glasses is worth more than $90 billion, and this number will increase to $140 billion in 2020. Fuel3D, a 3D capture imaging company in Europe, received a grant of 1.7 million euros to develop a 3D scanning system -2SEVENTY to fully customize the glasses. After this plan is successful, users will be able to purchase and install glasses independently.

Fuel3D is developing a comprehensive capture technology, and 2SEVENTY is able to capture a fully accurate 3D model in one scan. In order to reduce the chance of eyeglass discomfort caused by lens misalignment, thereby increasing customer satisfaction and increasing profits. The technology combines a pre-calibrated stereo camera with an imaging system that captures the face in time, making the workflow not only easy to operate, but also cost-effective.
