Energy International's weekly inventory meets with you as scheduled. Last week, the British BP company released the energy statistics report in the world. What important information did the report convey? In addition, Egypt has formulated the energy and power development plan for the next 10 years. What are the targets set by the plan? India’s tens of billions of dollars worth of coal-fired power plants are being sold, but it seems that no one is interested. What is the reason? Argentina announced that by 2025, the proportion of renewable energy in the domestic energy structure will be increased to 20%. What efforts will Argentina make? What impact will Poland and Denmark have on the Baltic Sea Gas Project Agreement, which will affect the energy development of the two countries? Do this week in Energy International's weekly inventory.

BP reports that Russia's oil and gas exports remain the world's number one in 2016

According to the Russian news agency reported on June 13, the British BP company's World Energy Statistics Report said that in 2016, Russia exported 8.6 million barrels per day, an increase of 2.1%, accounting for 13.2% of the total global oil exports; exporting natural gas 204.8 billion cubic meters. Rice, an increase of 6.1%, accounted for 18.9% of the total global natural gas exports; oil and natural gas exports remain the world's number one.

According to the report, in 2016, Russian oil production continued to grow for the eighth consecutive year, reaching 11.2 million barrels per day, an increase of 2.2%, accounting for 12.2% of the total global mining volume, a record high in the post-Soviet period; natural gas extraction increased by 0.5%. Accounting for 16.2% of global mining; coal mining increased by 3.1%, accounting for 5.2% of global mining; hydropower generation increased by 9.5%; nuclear power generation increased by 0.3%, accounting for 7.5% of global nuclear power production; renewable energy Power generation increased by 6.9%; energy consumption ranked fourth in the world, second only to China, the United States, and India; primary energy consumption decreased by 7.7 million tons of oil equivalent, a decrease of 1.4%, but still accounted for 5.1% of global consumption. Egypt's power investment in the next 10 years will exceed 130 billion US dollars

According to the development plan formulated by SOFRECO for the two energy and power sectors, the total investment required by the electrical power sector in the period from 2018 to 2030 is about 135.258 billion US dollars.

According to the plan, between 2018 and 2030, the Egyptian power sector will increase production capacity by 51,738 megawatts, of which solar thermal power plants will increase capacity by 6,950 megawatts, solar photovoltaic power plant projects will increase capacity by 9,020 megawatts, wind power will increase capacity by 9,350 megawatts, and hydropower will increase. The production capacity is 68 MW, the single-cycle fuel power plant has an increased capacity of 100 MW, the fuel and gas power plant projects have an increased capacity of 4,650 MW, the coal-fired power plant project has an increased capacity of 16,800 MW, and the nuclear power project has an increased capacity of 4,800 MW. Ai Electric Power Minister Shaker said that Egypt will gradually and eventually cancel the electricity subsidy in 2025. In the fiscal year 2019/2020, Egypt will begin construction of a clean coal-fired power plant. (Source: Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy in Egypt)

Russia and India signed a framework agreement for the construction of two VVER-1000 units

Recently, at the 18th Russia-India Summit, Russia and India signed a framework agreement for the construction of the third phase of the Kutankulam nuclear power plant, including the design and construction of Kutankulam units 5 and 6 using Russian nuclear reactors.

The Russian Kutan Kuram nuclear power plant is located in Tamil Nadu and currently has two VVER-1000 units in operation at the ASE Group. Russia and India signed the temporary handover agreement for Unit 2 on April 3, which means that the unit has been put into commercial operation.

The second phase of the Kutankulam nuclear power plant has been started. The project will build two VVER-1000 units, namely units 3 and 4. The Russian National Atomic Energy Group said on June 1 that it plans to complete the pouring of the first tank concrete of Units 3 and 4 by the end of June. (Source: Nuclear Information Institute)

India sells $15 billion worth of coal-fired power plants

On June 5, the report published in the Indian Business Standards Report showed that 25,000 megawatts of thermal power generation capacity was on sale, involving the assets of the Jalapa Kasch Partnership, Lanco Basic Technology and KSK Energy, at a conservative price. The capacity per megawatt is about 55 million to 60 million rupees, and the total value of these projects exceeds 1.5 million US dollars. However, no one cares about the project.

The person in charge said that most projects do not have long-term power purchase agreements, which means that they cannot guarantee that the electricity they produce can be purchased. Most importantly, the price of renewable energy has fallen sharply, especially solar energy, and some projects have fallen to a level cheaper than coal. In addition, the Central Power Authority's draft report estimates that due to overcapacity and stabilizing demand, India will no longer need additional coal-fired power plants by 2022. Clearly, the attractiveness of coal is declining. (Source: International Energy Network)

Argentina is expected to become the most attractive renewable energy market in Latin America

Recently, the latest report pointed out that Argentina announced 2017 as the “Renewable Energy Year” and is committed to increase the proportion of renewable energy in the domestic energy structure to 20% by 2025, and set the target for 2017 to 8%. It is expected to become the most attractive renewable energy market in Latin America.

To achieve these goals, Argentina is expected to conduct a series of renewable energy auctions in the coming years. It is estimated that by 2025, 10 million kilowatts of renewable energy will be auctioned. In addition, wind energy, bioenergy and small-scale water projects are included, with a total bidding capacity of 6.366 million kilowatts. In the auction one month later, another 516,000 kilowatts of solar photovoltaic power was allocated. (Source: Power International Information Reference)

Poland and Denmark sign Baltic Sea gas project agreement

On June 11th, the Botong News Agency reported that Polish Prime Minister Shaidvo and Danish Prime Minister Rasmussen signed a memorandum of understanding on the Baltic Sea Gas Pipeline Project. The project plans to connect the Polish gas supply system to the Norwegian North Sea oil and gas field with a pipeline capacity of 10 billion cubic meters and an investment of about 2.2 billion euros. It is expected to be completed before the expiration of the Polish-Russian gas agreement in 2022. Shedwo said that the Baltic gas pipeline project is vital to energy security in Poland and the entire region, and EU residents will have access to safe, reliable and cheap energy.
