Japan has developed a "measuring force" robot

Experts at the Japan Communications Research Laboratory have developed robots that can reference corresponding objects with different forces by referring to preset measurement scales.
According to the laboratory's announcement, this “measurable” robot can walk on two legs, and its hand structure is designed based on the human metacarpal and its joint structure. Before grabbing an object, two cameras on the robot convert the image of the object into a three-dimensional image for the robot to sense. The robot will then use the finger to touch the object. Multiple sensors on the finger will allow the robot to further sense the size and shape of the object. After this, the robot will use the object's information and refer to the preset measurement scale to grab and use the object with no force that will damage the object. In the exhibition, this robot dexterously captured and used baseball, microphones and other items.
It is reported that Japanese experts are prepared to continue to improve the above-mentioned robots in the next three years and eventually make them home assistants.
