New catalyst lays the foundation for phenol acetone reformation

The new generation of synthetic cumene catalyst YSBH-2, which will be applied in the phenol-acetone expansion technology transformation project of the Yanhua Chemical Division, now has industrial amplification conditions and lays a solid foundation for the successful transformation of the phenol acetone expansion technology.
Cumene is an intermediate for the production of phenol and acetone. Traditionally, aluminum trichloride or solid phosphoric acid has been used as a catalyst for the synthesis of cumene. Most of them have been transformed into new processes using molecular sieves as catalysts. Compared with the traditional process, the new process has the advantages of mild reaction conditions, no corrosion, no pollution, and good intermediate product cumene quality. Two sets of phenol-acetone devices of Yanhua Chemicals Division have been reconstructed in 1998 and 2001, respectively, and a new type of molecular sieve catalyst has been used. Both devices have been successfully rebuilt. The calibration results show that various economic indicators All meet the design requirements, and some of the indicators are better than the imported UOP devices of the same type.
