General definition:
Generally, the chromaticity diagrams we know are CIE1931 (x, y) and CIE1976 (u', v').
The chart was created by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) in 1931 and is called the CIE 1931 XYZ color space. The most prominent chart is the CIE 1931 chart. This is one of the first color spaces defined by mathematical methods. Generally, the color on the CIE 1931 chart is representative, not the range of colors we can really see. In 1976, CIE proposed another chromaticity coordinate chart CIE 1976, which used L', u', v' to analyze the uniformity of light color. Therefore, the chromaticity diagram is often used as a reference standard for lighting fixtures.
