Slightly experienced riders know that there is not much needed for short trips on a single day, and pockets and rear pockets are enough to solve problems. But when we occasionally travel for two or three days in the outskirts, or to explore an unknown short-distance cycling route, riding a backpack is an option that cannot be bypassed.
For example, this spring, the cycling fun that I have just developed is to try to ride every unpopular route in the suburbs of Beijing. In the face of a cycling route with unknown road conditions, supplies and difficulty, a reliable and easy-to-use cycle is recommended. The backpack will give me a lot of confidence.
During my riding career in the past 10 years, I have used at least 5 long-term backpacks. I personally concluded that an excellent cycling backpack must meet three conditions: comfortable carrying, convenient loading, and durability.
A month ago, I had a MAMMUT mammoth Lithium Speed ​​20L backpack. Just on the first weekend of June, I was planning to try the legendary Youzhou Canyon riding route for the first time. So I started off with a new bag.
“Yuezhou Gorge†refers to the Yongding River Gorge which extends from the south end of the Guanting Reservoir in Hebei Province to the southwest of the National Road 109 along the west of Beijing. In response to possible conditions: punctures and lack of supplies, I packed a lot of supplies in my backpack in advance: 2 spare inner tubes, 2 bottles of drinking water, a KFC lunch, and enough energy to ride on a regular basis. Baton. Of course, small objects such as wallet key tissues are all stuffed into backpacks. The 20L space of the backpack is certainly more than enough to put these things down, and there is no difficulty in adapting to the space separation of various outdoor backpacks on the market.
Carrying system
When the backpack was upper body, I immediately felt three surprises: The first is that the backpack's weight is light, the material is soft, and the shape is reasonable; the second is that the belt around the waist has a good texture, and does not affect the stability of the backpack at the same time. Physical activity; Thirdly, I once had two surgeries of the left clavicle fracture. Before the other riding backpacks were so heavily loaded, I often made my injuries hard. To my surprise, the straps of this MAMMUT backpack are of uniform and smooth material, not causing any discomfort to my sensitive clavicle.
Breathability
What I doubted a bit later was what looked like an unconventional backpack that touched the back. The riding backpack I used before used a frame support + breathable mesh structure. The actual ventilation is pretty good. I worry that whether the large-area contact design of MAMMUT Lithium Speed ​​will cause hot feeling? But after really riding a bag on a hot day, my doubts disappeared.
I'm not sure what invisible black technology this backpack uses. In short, in terms of back ventilation, this MAMMUT backpack has almost no loss to other brands using grid structure, and the absence of a frame design also makes it more useful when not in use. Convenient and flat to accommodate.

From the town of Yanji to the concrete road of Jieshi Village, the uphill road condition is acceptable and the difficulty is not very high. â–¼

The canyon wall in Youzhou Canyon has very poor road quality. Riding a road bike on it is definitely not something to be desired. â–¼
The section of the continuous tunnel near Guanting Reservoir is abnormally narrow. â–¼

Can be improved
This riding experience gave me an initial impression of MAMMUT's mammoth Lithium Speed ​​backpack. The only small regret is that this backpack does not have a specially designed helmet position. Of course, if you are used for hiking or trail running, you may not need this.
At the end of June, I continued to use this MAMMUT backpack during my one-week trip to Cambodia. At least until now the durability of this backpack has not had any problems.
