Blister packaging is a method of wrapping a product between a blister formed with a transparent plastic sheet and a base plate (made of cardboard, a plastic film or sheet, aluminum foil or a composite material thereof).

Blister packs are primarily used for the packaging of pharmaceutical products such as tablets, capsules, and suppositories, and are now widely used in the packaging of food, cosmetics, stationery, toys, gifts, tools, and electromechanical parts. After being used in the field of military packaging, it is mainly used for packing single ordinances, lengths, heights and heights of less than 220mm, 75mm and 48mm ordnance maintenance equipment.

Blister packs have the following characteristics:

1, good protection. Because the blister pack has a good seal, it can be waterproof, moisture-proof, dust-proof, and rust-proof, extending the protection period. At the same time to create the conditions for vapor phase rust-proof packaging, with vapor phase rust inhibitor, rust-proof effect is better.

2, transparent and intuitive. Transparent blister is easy to see the shape and size of the equipment; the substrate can print basic information such as equipment code, name, specification part number and bar code, which facilitates the identification and counting of the equipment in the packaging to avoid sending and receiving errors.

3, easy to use. The blister pack is easy to open and easy to use. When using a single piece of equipment, it does not affect the sealing and protection of other equipment.

4, light weight. Blister packs are lighter and meet actual combat requirements. In addition, the blister has a certain elasticity, so it has a certain buffering performance. No additional cushioning material is added when packing, which not only saves storage space, but also reduces the cost of the packaging.

Third, blister packaging material selection

There are many types of blister packs, and the single blister base structure and the double blister baseless structure are more suitable for the packaging of weapon maintenance equipment. The packaging material is mainly composed of a thermoplastic film for blisters and a back cover substrate.

There are many types of plastic films that can be used for blister packaging. When selecting, the adaptability of plastic films and maintenance equipment must be taken into consideration. That is, the materials used must meet the technical requirements of blister packaging, while minimizing costs. Typical materials for blister packaging are cellulose, styrene, vinyl, polyvinyl chloride, composite aluminum, etc., among which polyvinyl chloride (PVC) has excellent transparency, good thermoformability and heat sealability. And high gas barrier properties, adding plasticizers can improve the cold resistance and impact strength, the use of better, lower cost, can be preferred, the thickness range of 0.10mm ~ 0.25mm is appropriate.

The substrate is also a major part of the blister pack. As with plastic films, the size, shape, and weight of the device must be taken into account when choosing. Substrates mainly include white paperboard, coated composite materials (mainly coated heat-seal coatings), corrugated cardboard, coated aluminum books, and polyvinyl chloride and other composite materials. Due to the use of polyvinyl chloride and blister sealing, it has good tear resistance and sealing protection, so it is preferred to use, and the thickness range is between 0.7mm and 0.15mm.

After scientific analysis and repeated trials, military maintenance equipment blister packaging uses polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as the material for blister packaging containers, and its thickness is 0.25mm, 0.35mm, 0.50mm, 0.50mm, and 0.60mm.

Fourth, blister packaging method selection

The blisters of blister packs vary in size and shape. At the same time, there are many kinds of blister packaging machines, so there are many kinds of blister packaging methods. According to the operation method, there are mainly three kinds of manual operation, semi-automatic operation and automatic operation.

According to the size and shape of the ordnance maintenance equipment and the comprehensive comparative study, the semi-automatic packaging method was selected. The process is: PVC sheet (film) material feed → heating → plastic molding → cutting and sorting → inspection → loading → bottom cover → high frequency heat sealing → inspection → labeling.
