The data provided by the Technology Center of Ningbo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau shows that in March this year, the Ningbo Bureau conducted a total of more than 60 batches of export carton inspections, among which nearly 30 batches were judged as unqualified due to non-compliance of the adhesive strength.
In the physical properties of the carton, the bond strength is an important parameter and it has an important influence on the quality of the carton. Adhesive strength does not reach the standard, often cause the cartons can not be piled up, causing economic losses. It is recommended that enterprises start from the quality of raw materials, production equipment and production process control, carefully study and strictly control, enhance the bonding strength of cartons, improve product quality, and successfully go abroad.
One must use high quality adhesives. The quality of the adhesive directly affects the strength of the bond. Enterprises must not underestimate the quality of the adhesive for cost considerations. In fact, the cost of adhesives accounts for a very small proportion of carton production costs. It must not be lost. At present, most companies use starch series adhesives. The advantages of starch series adhesives are strong adhesion, good initial viscosity, easy storage, and a firm and smooth appearance of the carton.
Second, we must control the moisture content of paper. The base paper is too wet, and the moisture of the paper itself will hinder the fibers from absorbing the adhesive. Excessive drying of the base paper will absorb the moisture in the adhesive too quickly and inhibit the penetration of the adhesive. Corrugated paper should generally be controlled at (8 ± 2)% and cardboard (9 ± 2)%.
Third, we must rationally adjust the production process. The ratio of the adhesive, the temperature, the control of the amount of glue, the quality of the water, and the speed of the machine all affect the bond strength. Enterprises should carefully study according to their own production conditions and comprehensively adjust the corresponding production process.
Fourth, the maintenance of the machine and maintenance must be done. Corrugated roller shaft head, bearing wear or damage can also cause poor adhesion, bubble, pseudoplastic, degumming and other undesirable phenomena
