New textile printing inks

1. Total water soluble thermosetting ink

Full-water-soluble thermosetting inks have many excellent characteristics: they are soluble in water, can be diluted with water, and the screen can be used with clear water. Currently prepared, can be opened directly using. The ink has passed the 4A cleaning test and fire resistance test of the American Association of Chemical Workers (AATCC). In addition, it has good dry cleaning and light resistance. Its soft touch, solvent-free, solvent evaporation time, can be placed in an oven immediately after printing. However, printing with a dye-based (solvent-based) emulsion must remove all of the solvents before polymerizing.

2. New hot melt ink series

To develop a new type of hot melt ink, two requirements must be met: the first is adhesion to nylon; the second is the use of a new material. Combining these two points can make a hot-melt ink that can adhere to both nylon and thermal transfer. Hot melt inks are solvents for vinyl resins in plasticizing media. Vinyl resins swell and absorb plasticizers. After the plasticizer is heated, it is absorbed by the resin and begins to dissolve the polymer. After dissolution, the plasticizer is uniformly dispersed around the polymer, and a plastic film is formed.

When this type of hot melt ink is printed on nylon, it often fails to obtain satisfactory adhesion. A new type of chemical agent is currently used to develop a modified hot melt ink that not only has all the characteristics of hot melt ink but also has good adhesion to most nylon fabrics. This new type of hot melt ink has many excellent characteristics: it can be used in high speed printing presses; has good adhesion to nylon fabrics; good washing performance; can be ironed (ordinary hot melt ink cannot be ironed); can be printed on transfer paper. Flocking printing adhesion is good; no solvent, has passed air and water pollution detection. The successful development of this ink has greatly expanded the textile printing market.

3. Sublimation transfer ink

The so-called sublimation transfer is a substance that changes from a solid state to a gaseous state and then returns to the solid state without appearing as a liquid state. A disperse dye has recently been developed and is currently used in screen printing.

Disperse dyes are incorporated into the print media at the time of manufacture and screen printed onto paper. Evaporation of the solvent in the ink is only required for the drying process. It can be dried by air and mechanically heated to evaporate the solvent. The transfer process is to place the printing surface of the printing plate on the fabric and then heated at a high temperature for 30 seconds. The dye in the ink evaporates from the ink at high temperatures and is absorbed by the fabric.

At present, people's demand for screen printing of textiles is increasing day by day, and the application of synthetic fibers is becoming increasingly widespread. This trend favorably promotes the rapid development of sublimation transfer printing. The achievements of the ink manufacturing industry can not only print the past needs of companies, but also meet the needs of the future.
