This year, both the Design Museum and the Science Museum in London, UK, will hold an exhibition on the theme of 3D printing technology to introduce the changes that the technology will bring to the UK manufacturing industry.

The Design Museum in London collaborated with the Technology Strategy Group of the British Innovation Agency and recently launched the “Future Here: New Industrial Revolution” exhibition. In addition to the theme of innovation and mass customization, the exhibition will also launch a 3D factory for the first time. Visitors can explore how the 3D printer works in this factory and witness the production process at the site.

In addition to displaying a series of new machines, personalized fashion custom products and exotic wood furniture, the exhibition challenged traditional manufacturing and its future.

Undoubtedly, new technologies such as 3D printing will bring benefits to the public. They will provide equipment for the manufacture of products for small businesses, entrepreneurs and freelancers. Only 10 years ago, these products could only be produced by global manufacturing giants.

Design museum curator Diane Sadic said: “200 years ago, the changes that took place in the cotton mills of Cornwall and the tin mines in Cornwall changed the world. Now it is the world of Silicon Valley and hackers. ”

The Science Museum, also in London, will hold an exhibition "3D: Print the Future" in October. The exhibition will focus on the use of 3D printing technology for human body replacement parts, aircraft parts and music boxes. During the exhibition, the staff will also conduct a 3D scan on the audience and produce some small 3D printed figures.

David Willez, British University and Technology Minister, said: "British has many of the most innovative companies in the world and their design is very important to maintaining the leading position of UK manufacturing."

According to Kit Malthouse, deputy mayor of business and business in London, these technologies have made the UK's manufacturing economy one of the top 10 in the world. This also means that the exhibition will be a low-key gesture to celebrate the UK's return to the Victorian world leadership in design and innovation.
