The test sample of the salt spray test chamber shall use a substrate conforming to the provisions of GB / T 9271, with a size of approximately 150mm × 100mm × 1mm. The size of the test board can also be 150mm × 100mm (0.8 ~ 1.5) mm or 150mm × 70mm × (0.8 ~ 1.5) mm.
Treat each test board according to the provisions of GB / T 9271, and then paint the product or system to be tested according to the prescribed method; the back and edges of the test board are also coated with the product or system to be tested. If the coating on the back and edges of the test panel is different from the product under test, it should have better corrosion resistance than the product under test.
The coated test board of the salt spray test chamber is dried according to the time and conditions specified in the standard, and the state should be adjusted under the conditions of temperature (23 ± 2) ℃ and relative humidity (50 ± 5)%, with air circulation, and no direct sunlight. At least 16h, and then put into the test as soon as possible.
Use one of the non-destructive methods specified in GB / T 13452.2 to determine the thickness of the dry coating, one μm.
If the test sample of the salt spray test box needs to be scratched, all scratches shall be at least 25mm from each side of the test panel and the scratches. The scratch should be a straight line through the coating to the substrate. When performing scratches, use a scratch tool with a hard tip. The scratches should have a parallel section on both sides or a widened upper section. The scratch width of the metal substrate is 0.3mm ~ 1.0mm. One or two scratches can be made. The scratch is parallel to the long side of the test board. Scratch, razor, knife, needle and other tools are not allowed for scratches. For the aluminum substrate, the two scratches should be perpendicular to each other but not cross. One scratch should be parallel to the rolling direction of the aluminum plate and the other scratch should be perpendicular to the rolling direction of the aluminum plate.
Note: If galvanized sheet or zinc alloy steel plate is used, the result of scratching on the zinc coating and scratching on the metal substrate will be different.
