It is difficult to determine whether the fixture of the tensile testing machine is good or bad. Due to the particularity of the fixture structure, it is sometimes difficult for us to determine which fixture is more suitable for a kind of fixture, usually from the following three points. 1. Whether the fixture is convenient and safe to use.
2. Whether the clamping is reliable without slipping.
3. During the test, the sample breakpoint is good. Data dispersion is small. (I.e. the specimen is constantly jawed, inside the jaws, parallel sections or outside the gauge length)
There are several types of materials, which are unique to their own characteristics and applicable environments. So far, there are not many solutions
1. Due to the high hardness of the sample and the relatively loose internal structure of the steel wire and steel strand, the stress is uneven during the tensile test, and the jaws holding the sample are easy to wear. The fixture has not been well resolved. In the past, it was done with aluminum foil, and four aluminum foils were consumed in one test, which was too much waste. At present, the fixture of the tensile testing machine sprayed with emery is adopted, and the problem of slipping is solved, but the position of the fracture is always not ideal, and 10 samples can only succeed about half.
2. For a material with a large amount of deformation, the clamping is difficult due to the excessive deformation, and the design of the fixture is also a difficult point.
3. For the tests that need to be done in a high-temperature environment, the requirements of the fixture are also very high, which must be resistant to high temperatures, not deformed, and small in size, so it is also difficult for general test machine manufacturers to get things done
4. For large-volume, high-frequency tests, foreign countries generally adopt automatic clamping, which is still a new topic for domestic test machine manufacturers.
5. For the inspection of finished products and semi-finished products, the required fixtures are varied, and how to personally meet customer requirements is a challenge for all test machine manufacturers.
